Only Creativity means not being a Designer…

Creative fields are not so creative they turn into business later on. Most beginners and students who think that they are good at sketching and art must take a design-like field. The design field is creative until you learn it all. When you go into the market, all this stuff becomes business. In business, we use marketing strategies, communication skill, selling and buying ideas. A good concept generator can be a designer also. Because one small idea can turn into a major design-related project. Some are comfortable with traditional while some are modernised their ideas. Some not restricted to a structural way, but some deal with fluids, parametric, computational and information handling.

Creativity matters in starting but eventually you get a habit of it, and you become creative enough to give a design. When you work with designers, then they more focus on how you handle a particular project. How you deal with clients. Their requirements. How to present their requirements in reality. Always keep in mind: Design starts with an idea but ends with a sales strategy. Marketing strategies vary from person to person because of the skills to present their ideas are different.

As a design student, I believe that if you want to start your own firm, you must know how to deal with market, client, and management-related things. Because design will be done by your juniors. You only give a rough sketch or idea to them, but they execute it on software, which will actually be in reality. In interior design, you have to be very specific about clients’ needs and requirements. Because the home you are going to design, the client lives in it for their whole life or part of their life. In product design, you also don't need to think more; you just know that what clients need. Being a good designer starts by knowing the habits of clients.

The design industry is booming in today’s era because all things that represent tomorrow need to be done today. Whether designing roads, bridges, buildings, playgrounds, or public places. The construction industry is really growing because of new technologies and materials. Sustainable design is now a part of today’s design industry. RIBA also promotes good architects and designers to do projects or present ideas that save future generations and inspire the future.

In India, to establish a firm of architecture, you need permission or approval from COA, i.e., the Council of Architecture. But an interior design firm does not need any permission or license. Because the structure that an architect is making does not have the scope for mistakes. Because it leads fall of a building or structure. An interior designer only deals with interior things, so does not require complex permission or a license. Every country has its own norms and rules. Also, internationally, some councils regulate and decide what the rules are.

Designers deal with practicality. They consider functionality rather than decoration. Aesthetics is also a part of design. But functionality matters more. The main consideration that clients have is a budget. Budget matters in every project. A good designer always thinks client budget but also gives clarity about it to the client. Choosing the right materials, good workers, and also managing the workers is also a skill. Always keep in mind: Don’t hire someone to whom you can’t fire. Keep relations and business away from each other.

Now every country needs a designer who can design good, futuristic, but functional designs.
