Every designer knows design is not only drawing, but it is a living experience that gives life to a house and turns it into a home. A space that provides us with warmth and a feeling of calmness. As a designer, always consider the habits and behaviour of a person before actually designing for them.

Most people consider a designer to be a person who only decorates rooms and focuses only on aesthetics, but this is not correct. A designer needs to focus on a variety of things like space planning, convincing clients, market analysis, material selection, team management, and much more than this. Designers have to manage several things at a time. This job of being a designer is more like being a businessman. Always see the design field as a business because you need all the qualities that businessmen have in this field.

The interior design career field also demands one quality: communication skills. How you communicate with clients and vendors decides your growth. You need to be patient and careful while communicating with the entire market. This field gives you a good environment to grow. This field is creative as well as critical to analyse and work. Sometimes, it takes hours to finalise designs.

A project and a client are major requirements in the interior design business. This business’s major focus is on what the client actually wants for their home. The majority of clients are budget-specified. They need a home within their budget range. You will only find 1% of clients who don’t think about budget. Hence, always try to make your network strong enough to get 1% of clients.

Creativity is so important; creativity creates your value in the market, and a business mindset sustains your ideas. A creative mindset makes you versatile. Ideas are too much on Pinterest, but not every space is meant for it. A lot of things are under consideration while designing a space.

Before starting work on any space or design, client study is important. We call it a client brief. In this, we communicate with the client and their family. We try to know their interests, habits, and behaviour. The client meeting decodes what the client needs in their life. A client selects the reference photo of their room, then we design according to the reference.

The budget is the biggest concern in every project. Also, the project timeline is also important to the both side — client and designer. As a designer, you need to manage all finances.

Each space has a unique identity and story associated with it. Hence, carefully design each space and turn the house into a living home.
